Villa spotlight

Villas that work for colleagues

Shared space for the team, and a bedroom and bathroom of their own for everyone.

Planning a corporate retreat in the Maldives

An offsite on an island has one thing a city hotel cannot match: nowhere else to be. The whole team shares one island, one set of restaurants and one sunset, so the conversations carry on long after the meetings end.

When to go

The dry season, roughly December to April, brings calmer seas and the most sunshine, and it is the busiest time of year. For a large group, book nine to twelve months ahead. May to November is quieter and often better value, which helps a company budget go further.

Rooms for colleagues

Colleagues usually want their own bedroom and bathroom. Two- and three-bedroom villas where every bedroom has its own bathroom, like those above, give each person privacy and the team a shared deck and pool.

What we arrange

Villas held together, transfers arranged around each guest's flight, a meal plan from half board to all-inclusive, the team day and the gala dinner, and one point of contact with us before and during the stay.

FAQ

Corporate retreats: your questions

Can a Maldives resort host our meetings and events?

Yes, several can. Kandooma Maldives caters to meetings, incentives and group events, and at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives the whole Hard Rock Cafe floor can be booked for up to 190 guests. Tell us your numbers and the set-up you need and we will ask the resorts that fit.

How many nights should a corporate retreat be?

Four or five nights leaves time for a day of meetings, a team day and a free day. For three nights or fewer, choose a speedboat resort near Malé so less time goes on transfers.

What team-building activities are there?

It depends on the resort. Anantara Dhigu has the private yacht Raaya, surfing and an indoor golf studio; Hard Rock runs free daily group classes and beach games; NOOE and Anantara Dhigu run cooking classes with their chefs.

Is all-inclusive a good idea for a company group?

Often, yes. Meals and drinks are covered, so the budget is fixed before you travel and nobody has to sign for a round. Siyam World is all-inclusive, and at many other resorts we can add a full board or all-inclusive plan.

How far ahead should we book?

Six to twelve months ahead, and nine to twelve for the dry season, December to April. Multi-bedroom villas are limited at every resort and go first.
