Villa spotlight

Villas for the couple and the wedding party

A villa for two after the ceremony, and residences big enough for both families.

Planning a Maldives wedding for your group

A destination wedding on an island has one big advantage: everyone is in the same place. The ceremony, the dinner and the morning after all happen on one island, with one beach and one reef. What needs care is getting everyone there and keeping the families close together once they arrive.

When to go

The dry season, roughly December to April, brings calmer seas and the most sunshine, and it is when the multi-bedroom villas sell out first. For a group wedding, book nine to twelve months ahead. May to November is quieter and often better value, with short showers rather than days of rain.

Getting your guests there

Seaplanes fly only in daylight and carry a limited amount of luggage per guest, so a wedding outfit and a suit bag need planning. If guests land at different times, a speedboat resort near Malé is the simplest choice.

What we arrange

Villas held together for the families, transfers arranged around each guest's flight, a meal plan from half board to all-inclusive, the dinners and celebrations around the day, and one point of contact with us before and during the stay.

FAQ

Maldives wedding groups: your questions

Can we have our wedding in the Maldives with all our guests?

Yes. Resorts can host the ceremony and the celebrations for a group: Hard Rock Hotel Maldives can give you the whole Hard Rock Cafe floor for up to 190 guests, and Furaveri has a wedding pavilion over the reef. Tell us your numbers and we will find the venues that fit.

Is a Maldives wedding legally binding?

It depends on your nationality and the rules at the time. Many couples marry legally at home and hold the ceremony, the celebration or a vow renewal in the Maldives. We check the paperwork with the resort before you book.

Where can our wedding guests stay together?

Multi-bedroom residences keep families under one roof, such as the Four Bedroom Beach Residence at Siyam World and the Four Bedroom Beach Pool Residence at Vakkaru, which each sleep up to 12. Larger groups usually add several villas nearby.

Which resorts are easiest for guests on different flights?

Speedboat resorts near Malé, such as Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, Sheraton Full Moon and SO/ Maldives (about 15 minutes), and Grand Park Kodhipparu (about 20). Seaplanes fly only in daylight.

Can we renew our vows in the Maldives?

Yes. Furaveri arranges vow renewals by the ocean, and Centara Ras Fushi, an adults-only island 15 minutes from Malé, arranges them too.
